About Delhi Police Constable
Delhi Police constables are recruited through the SSC Delhi Police Constable exam, open to Class 12 pass candidates. Delhi Police is under the Ministry of Home Affairs, so constables are central government employees on the 7th Pay Commission matrix. Increments and Promotions
Annual increment is 3% of basic. Constables are promoted to Head Constable, then Assistant Sub-Inspector and Sub-Inspector through seniority and departmental exams. MACP upgrades apply after 10, 20 and 30 years without promotion.
