Appraisal results started hitting Infosys employee inboxes in April 2026. Most people fall into one of two camps -- either they expected worse, or they expected better. Either way, the number that matters is not the percentage. It is how much extra lands in your account on the 1st of next month.
Here is the band-wise picture based on what employees across business units are reporting.
Infosys Hike 2026: What Each Band Got
Band 1 cleared 12% to 14%. Band 2 landed at 9% to 11%. If you are in Band 3 -- which is most people -- you got 6% to 8%. Band 4 saw 2% to 4%, and Band 5 got zero.
Infosys does not publish these numbers officially. What you see above comes from employee reports on LinkedIn, internal forums, and direct conversations over the past few weeks. Worth noting that two people in different business units with the same rating can end up 1 to 2 percentage points apart. The number is not universal.
What the Hike Actually Adds to Your Take-Home
A 7% hike sounds decent. On a Rs. 3.6 LPA salary, that is Rs. 1,700 per month extra after deductions. Not nothing, but also not life-changing in Delhi or Bangalore right now.
A Systems Engineer on Rs. 3.6 LPA who got Band 3 (7%) moves from Rs. 3.6 LPA to Rs. 3.85 LPA. Monthly in-hand goes from Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 27,200. That is Rs. 1,700 more per month.
A Technology Analyst on Rs. 6.5 LPA who got Band 2 (10%) moves to Rs. 7.15 LPA. Monthly in-hand goes from Rs. 46,800 to Rs. 51,100 -- an increase of Rs. 4,300 per month.
A Senior Technology Analyst on Rs. 9 LPA who got Band 1 (13%) moves to Rs. 10.17 LPA. Monthly in-hand goes from Rs. 64,200 to Rs. 71,100 -- Rs. 6,900 more every month.
Monthly in-hand reference (goes after the three salary examples):
Current CTC | Band 3 (7%) | New CTC | New In-Hand |
Rs. 3.6 LPA | +Rs. 25,200 | Rs. 3.85 LPA | Rs. 27,200/mo |
Rs. 5 LPA | +Rs. 35,000 | Rs. 5.35 LPA | Rs. 39,600/mo |
Rs. 6.5 LPA | +Rs. 45,500 | Rs. 6.95 LPA | Rs. 50,200/mo |
Rs. 8 LPA | +Rs. 56,000 | Rs. 8.56 LPA | Rs. 61,500/mo |
Rs. 10 LPA | +Rs. 70,000 | Rs. 10.7 LPA | Rs. 72,800/mo |
Rs. 12 LPA | +Rs. 84,000 | Rs. 12.84 LPA | Rs. 86,200/mo |
For Band 2 (10% hike) multiply your current CTC by 1.10. For Band 1 (13%) multiply by 1.13. Then use the CTC to In-Hand Calculator for the exact take-home.

How 2026 Compares to the Last Few Years
FY 2024 came in at 3% to 4% for most people. A lot of employees got letters that were hard to read without frustration. FY 2025 improved slightly to 4% to 6% but still felt thin. The sector had taken on too many people during the post-Covid rush and was correcting hard. FY 2023 was the last year that felt normal -- 8% to 9% across the board. FY 2026 is better than the two years before it. That is about as much as you can honestly say.

Why the In-Hand Increase Feels Smaller Than the Percentage
Before you feel good or bad about the number, check three things.
Your variable pay at Infosys is 8% to 12% of your CTC. If your unit had a rough year, variable payout drops. A 7% base hike paired with a 20% cut in variable payout can leave you with less cash than last year -- on paper the salary went up, in practice it did not.
Then there is tax. Cross Rs. 12.75 LPA after your hike and income tax kicks in under the new regime. Around Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 2,000 per month goes to the government that was not going before. The Income Tax Calculator shows you the exact damage.
And if your basic salary was not already at the PF cap, a higher basic means higher PF deductions. The in-hand increase ends up smaller than the gross increase every time.
Infosys vs TCS vs Wipro in 2026
TCS was the most conservative -- Band 3 performers there saw 4% to 7%. Wipro was roughly in line with Infosys at 5% to 8% for average performers. HCL went hardest on retaining top talent, going up to 15% for Band 1. If you are comparing offers right now, HCL's increment cycle has been the most generous this year for high performers. For everyone else the differences are small enough not to matter much.
Fresher Salaries at Infosys in 2026
If you joined in FY 2025 and are going through your first appraisal, most freshers land in Band 3 regardless of performance. That is standard practice -- the first real differentiation typically happens in year two.
A Systems Engineer earns Rs. 3.6 LPA with monthly in-hand of Rs. 25,500. A Digital Specialist Engineer earns Rs. 6.5 LPA with monthly in-hand of Rs. 46,800. A Power Programmer earns Rs. 8 LPA with monthly in-hand of Rs. 57,000.

What to Actually Do With This Information
Band action table (goes at the top of the what to do section):
Your Band | What It Means | What to Do |
Band 1 or 2 | Above average -- you are valued | Benchmark against market. Gap above 20%? Start exploring. |
Band 3 | Middle of the pack | Stay aware. Inflation is running faster than 7%. |
Band 4 | Below expectations | Get clarity on timeline to improve. If vague, treat it as a signal. |
Band 5 or PIP | Serious situation | Start looking externally now. Do not wait for next cycle. |
Band 1 or 2 -- you are being retained well. The real question is whether your post-hike CTC is competitive with what the market pays for the same experience. If the gap is above 20%, the internal trajectory rarely closes it fast enough. The AI Salary Benchmark gives you a market comparison for your role and experience level before your next conversation with your manager.
Band 3 -- most common outcome. Inflation in most Indian metros is running higher than 7%. Not a crisis, but not a reason to stop looking either.
Band 4 or 5 -- ask one question directly. What does a Band 2 look like for me, and by when? If your manager cannot answer that clearly, you have your answer already.
